AskRomeo's weekend gig

1:30 am, February 27, 2011

While watching Countdown to UFC 127, after 7hours of awesomeness, I realized that I have to share this.
I must say, THIS IS THE BEST NIGHT EVER!

We had our first gig outside of UP, or at least, the first performance hosted by organizers that are not from UP.

We were selected from a pool of talented bands (some are jologs though) to play in Metro Bar last night.
Of course we took the chance to play outside of UP. After all, that's what we love: AskRomeo (the name of our band), was formed to share our talents and entertain our friends.

We performed our rendition of Katy Perry's Firework, and man, they loved it. I thought it sucked because of my off-beat-hiccup-beats (boog-pak, troog pak) but they loved our choice of song: It's catchy and our guitarists and vocalist owned the stage! After playing, we can overhear the audience singing Firework (LSS, hahaha). Meanwhile, as we were watching other bands perform their songs, we decided to go to TriNoma and bail on the event. We expected that we don't stand a bit of chance of winning, plus, they will not serve beers until 9 pm. All of us were happy just to perform our best and show the audience what we are made of. Oha! Oha!

8:00 pm, February 26, 2011

We ate dinner at Gilligan's and drank until our stomach bled out alcohol. We celebrated our "victory" with some of our "groupies". hehehe As we were drinking, Jenine (our bassist) called on the waiter to tell the band having their gig at Gilligan's, that we wanted to jam with them. A minute later, We found ourselves playing and singing our hearts out to the intoxicated crowd of Gilligan's. We sang our go-to-song: MIGRAINE Oh! I can't express how much I loved that moment! We had a blast!

Seriously, from the bottom of our hearts, in behalf of Jay (lead), Imee (vocals), Jenine (bass), claire (rhythm and vocals), Thank you!
